With NCAA college football's Championship Week in the rearview mirror, fans are turning their attention to the upcoming bowl games — including the Texas Bowl. This season's game will be played between the LSU Tigers and Kansas State Wildcats.

While the game is about a month away, oddsmakers are leaning slightly towards one of the schools. LSU is currently a 1-point underdog against Kansas State, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Opening Texas Bowl Odds

While FanDuel Sportsbook may be favoring the Wildcats, both teams have -110 odds to cover the spread. Meanwhile, KSU is the -115 moneyline favorite, while LSU sits at -105 odds.

This will be LSU's second Texas Bowl appearance. Their only other one occurred in 2015, ending with a 56-27 Tigers win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

This will also be Kansas State's second Texas Bowl, with the first being the inaugural event in 2006. Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost to Rutgers, so fans will hope for a different outcome this time around.

The upcoming game will be the second-ever head-to-head matchup between LSU and Kansas State. The Tigers won the first meeting, 21-0, all the way back on Sept. 13, 1980.

The Texas Bowl will take place on Jan. 4, 2022 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
