Lions Get Concerning News With Tyrell Williams Injury Update

The Detroit Lions' wide receiver corps is set to look a lot of different this season.
With no clear WR1, veteran free agent signing Tyrell Williams is angling for a starting job. The sixth-year pro could be quarterback Jared Goff's top target, but Williams is reportedly dealing with a minor groin injury that puts his status in question.

Tyrell Williams Injury Update
Williams was held out of practice with the Lions on Wednesday and it's important to monitor how he is able to recover in the next few days. The former Los Angeles Charger is expected to be back on the field next week and ready to go by the time Detroit takes on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.
After losing Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones, the Lions signed Williams to a one-year deal worth $4 million. He has put together four straight seasons with at least 650 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Williams has also built a reputation for being a deep threat averaging 16.1 yards per catch in his career.
The Lions' offense is in desperate need of a spark after scoring 23.6 points per game last season on an average of 350.2 yards of offense. Both of those marks ranked No. 20 in the NFL. Detroit's coaching staff has to hope this groin issue doesn't linger into the regular season for Williams.
Detroit remains a long shot to make any kind of noise this season and should simply be looking to give the fans something to be excited about. The Lions have odds set at +620 to make the playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
