LaMelo Ball Disrespected in 2020-21 NBA MVP Odds

LaMelo Ball came into the season with a ton of hype, landing with the Charlotte Hornets as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Ball opened as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year and he is now the overwhelming frontrunner at this point.
The 6-foot-6 point guard is getting his respect in the ROY odds, but when it comes to the 2020-21 NBA MVP race, the same can't be said.

LaMelo Ball NBA ROY and MVP Odds
Despite his impressive performance as a rookie, Ball currently is not listed in the MVP odds via FanDuel Sportsbook. Meanwhile, a player like T.J. Warren, who's out for the rest of the season, has long-shot odds at +25000.
Even Ball's brother, Lonzo, has +25000 odds. LaMelo's points, rebounds and assists per game averages (14.3/5.8/6.1) all outpace Lonzo's averages (13.9/4.4/4.7) and this is being considered a bounce-back season for the fourth-year PG.
LaMelo isn't on the same level LeBron James (+240), Joel Embiid (+440) or Luka Doncic (+1100), and he's not actually going to win MVP barring a massive explosion across the board, but he deserves to be in the conversation among players like Jamal Murray (+22000) and Kemba Walker (+25000).
