The script was flipped on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12. After leading for most of the night, the Indianapolis Colts came roaring back to take a 17-16 advantage heading into the final period.
Steelers QB Kenny Pickett didn't flinch, though, spearheading the first fourth-quarter comeback win of his career. He had a badass quote about the game-winning drive after the contest.
Pickett told reporters, "No one had second thoughts going out there in that fourth quarter that we were going to win the game." It's clear the QB confident in his ability to turn the game around, and his team fed on that energy.
Monday night was a test for the young signal-caller, and he passed with strong results. Pickett converted two crucial third downs during the game-winning drive, including a third-and-nine at the team's own 29-yard line to start the period.
It was also revealed Pickett called the play on third-and-goal that ultimately got Benny Snell Jr. into the end zone with just over 10 minutes left. That confidence clearly had an impact on his teammates.
This was exactly the kind of performance that showcases Pickett's potential as a franchise player. It'd be no surprise if this comeback is looked back upon as a turning point for the rookie.
