After hurting his shoulder during practice last month, Mike Williams' availability for the Los Angeles Chargers' Week 1 NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals has been in doubt for a while now. The latest update claims Williams will be playing after being a limited participant in practice this week, but it looks like he will not be 100 percent healthy.

This update only improves the fantasy outlook for fellow wide receiver Keenan Allen. If Williams doesn't suit up or plays limited snaps, Allen will be the focal point of a wide receiver group that suddenly becomes very inexperienced behind him. He should receive a surplus of targets from quarterback Tyrod Taylor if the Chargers want to compete and try to win the game.

Cincinnati gave up the most yards per completion in the NFL last season (12.7) and will have a tough time guarding Allen for the entirety of the game. Look for him to capitalize on a weak passing defense and possibly find the end zone as well.

Allen checks in as the No. 14 wide receiver in our Week 1 fantasy football rankings. With an uptick in targets and Mike Williams' injury, it wouldn't be surprising to see Allen put together a top 10 performance this week.
