Josh Jacobs' pending free agency is one of the biggest offseason storylines surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders. The star running back is coming off of a breakout year, which has set him up for a huge payday.

It remains to be seen how Las Vegas handles Jacobs' situation. On Thursday, the All-Pro RB made things very clear for the franchise by issuing an ultimatum.

One potential option the Raiders have to retain Jacobs is by placing the franchise tag on him. However, Jacobs said he'd only be okay with that route if it means the front office improves the entire roster.

He added in his warning to the Raiders, "If you want me to come back as the hero, you better pay me like a hero."

Jacobs is clearly sending a message here with his comments. It's been rumored he wouldn't want to play on the one-year tag instead of getting a long-term contract, and this backs that up. The only way he'd even consider that option, it appears, is if the team uses the money to become a contender. That would set Jacobs up to tear it up again in 2023, helping him cash in next offseason if he played on the tag.

The more likely scenario here seems to the RB signing a long-term deal somewhere. This statement is as much a warning to Las Vegas as it is a message to other franchises that he's open to a move if they meet his demands.
