Injury issues riddled the San Francisco 49ers for most of the 2020 NFL season. One player who was marred by injuries was running back Tevin Coleman, who was held to just eight games played with one start. After signing a one-year contract with the New York Jets this offseason, the veteran running back is looking to rebound with a fresh start

Coleman will enter the 2021 campaign with a chip on his shoulder. While some critics may be doubting his health after dealing with injuries, the 28-year-old responded to his doubters on Thursday by saying that he has "a lot left in my tank."

Even after the injuries that he endured last year, Coleman is focused on proving that his strength and speed will help him prove that his career is far from over. Nevertheless, he also said that he's feeling completely healthy.

"I definitely had a lot of things going on from last year with my knee, my shoulder and things like that. But yeah, I'm 100% and everything's going good."

Tevin Coleman, Jets RB

Coleman has a solid chance at being the Jets starting RB in 2021, with his only competition being Ty Johnson and rookie Michael Carter. Johnson has yet to break the 300-rushing yard mark in his first two NFL seasons, while the Jets staff may want to ease Carter into a bigger role until he's 100% comfortable. Meanwhile, as a member of the 49ers and Atlanta Falcons, Coleman has shown what he can do at the NFL level. He has 4,161 total yards from scrimmage and 36 touchdowns in 78 career games.

Despite their additions over the offseason, the Jets are still projected to be the worst team in the AFC East at +1900 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Their +10000 odds to win the Super Bowl are also unfavorable, putting them in a three-way tie for 3rd-worst with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals.
