Following back-to-back losses, the New Orleans Saints hit the road to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 4. While the Saints are still slight favorites, they will be without a number of starters. The recent Jared Cook injury update has ruled him out, putting rookie Adam Trautman's fantasy outlook on the rise.

Joining a large list of starters out, Cook will be sidelined with a groin injury in Week 4. Not only is he out of action for this game, the tight end did not practice at all, meaning this could be a multi-week absence. Cook ranks second on the team in targets (15), meaning there is a large bit of opportunity left behind for the rookie to soak up.

Adam Trautman Fantasy Outlook

Trautman was selected in the third round in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Dayton, where he racked up 171 receptions for 2,295 yards and 31 touchdowns. The Saints loved what they have seen out of their third-round rookie so far, with tight end coach Dan Campbell saying "I didn't hesitate to put him into that role...I think we all like the and where he's going."

When Cook went down in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, Trautman was inserted into the lineup and played 32 snaps. He caught both of his targets for 17 yards, after catching one pass for 17 yards the week prior.

With Michael Thomas also out of the lineup, Trautman could be relied upon fairly heavily in Week 4. If you were starting Cook in fantasy football and now need a streaming option at tight end, don't hesitate to look Trautman's way. In this matchup, he has TE1 upside.
