With MLB Playoffs action heating up, the San Francisco Giants took an important 2-1 NLDS series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. However, the win came with a bit of concerning news surrounding infielder Tommy La Stella.

According to manager Gabe Kapler, he lifted La Stella midway through ther game due to a tight Achilles. This is an injury that has been lingering for the veteran second baseman this season.

It's currently unclear if La Stella will be forced to rest at any point throughout the remainder of the series, but the goal is obviously to have him as healthy as possible.

The Giants have benefited from a successful lefty/righty platoon at second base thanks to the work of La Stella and Donovan Solano. Both infielders boast nearly identical slashing lines (.250/.308/.405 for La Stella and .280/.344/.404 for Solano) and La Stella is the slightly better defender with his .995 fielding percentage.
