There have been quite a few concerning developments for the New York Jets recently. Jamal Adams was unhappy and subsequently traded, second-round rookie receiver Denzel Mims is already banged up, and prized free agent addition Breshad Perriman is already dealing with a knee issue.
With the receiving corps decimated by injury, a former rival is potentially set up for a big role with the Jets in 2020 – wide receiver Chris Hogan.
Hogan has reportedly been working with the first-team offense with Perriman and Mims sidelined at training camp. That is not good.
He has looked like a shell of himself in recent years. The former Patriot couldn't carve out much of a role for the Carolina Panthers in 2019, tallying 8 receptions for 67 yards in 7 games. Entering a pivotal year three for Sam Darnold, that's just not what fans want to see.
Featuring Hogan in any kind of significant role does not bode well for the Jets in 2020. Hopefully Mims and Perriman can get back on the field soon.
