The San Francisco 49ers will host the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game. After toppling the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, respectively, these two will meet for the second time this season, with the first being a 49ers' win, 37-8, in Week 12.
Both teams went 13-3 in the regular season, but the 49ers are 7.5-point home favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. If you are looking for alternative ways to bet on the game, here four players with a chance to score the first touchdown of the game.
1. Tevin Coleman, RB, San Francisco 49ers (+700)
Kyle Shanahan unexpectedly relied on Tevin Coleman against the Vikings. Coleman had 22 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns last week, which already makes him an interesting bet to score first. However, beyond riding the hot hand, Coleman looked explosive and dynamic while starter Raheem Mostert missed time with a calf issue. If the 49ers get into another short-yardage situation early on, Coleman could be the one who punches it in.
2. Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers (+950)
Deebo Samuel is one of our "starts" for this game, as he looks to be a major part of the 49ers' offense. He's second on the team in red zone targets (18), and has scored six touchdowns on the season (including three on the ground). Samuel also led the team in targets with six last week, and he could take advantage of a Green Bay secondary that has struggled to contain explosive wideouts, surrendering the NFL's sixth-most yards per reception.
3. Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers (+900)
Davante Adams led the Packers in red zone targets with 19 this season. He exploded against the Seahawks for eight catches, 160 yards and two touchdowns, which bodes well for his chances to score this week. Adams has caught seven touchdown passes in his last seven games, which makes him one of the most likely Packers to score this week. The 49ers have also allowed a WR to score in each of the last six weeks, which certainly helps Adams' chances.
4. Jimmy Graham, TE, Green Bay Packers (+2100)
For those looking for a long shot, Jimmy Graham could be an enticing option. While Graham has been inconsistent in the Packers' offense this year, his target share has increased over the last few weeks of the season. Graham had seven targets against the Detroit Lions in Week 17 and saw four during the Packers' win over the Seahawks. For context, Graham and Adams were the only Packers with more than two targets last week. Graham has also seen the third-most red zone targets for Green Bay thus far, and that kind of high-leverage usage makes him an intriguing choice to score first here.
