Fantasy Golf Picks for the Sentry Tournament of Champions

After a short break, the PGA Tour officially begins its schedule in 2021 on Thursday with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. With a smaller, yet super talented field, this is always a competitive tournament that amounts to a very impressive win for whoever raises the trophy.

With that in mind, let's take a look at a few golfers to consider when putting together your fantasy team for this event.

PGA Fantasy Picks

Dustin Johnson:
The Masters champion Dustin Johnson comes into this event as the betting favorite, and for good reason. On top of having arguably the best season of anyone on the PGA Tour and being the official No. 1 ranked player in the world, Johnson has also been dominant at this event and on this course. In fact, in his 10 full events at this course, his worst finish has been 16th. In his last five events here, he has never finished outside the top 10, which includes two top-5 finishes and a win. Bank on Johnson continuing his hot streak after a short break on a course he has dominated.

Hideki Matsuyama:
Hideki Matsuyama also has an impressive resume on this course. While that resume is not the caliber of Johnson's just based on lack of rounds, he has been more impressive in a smaller sample size. Matsuyama has played in this event three times, and he has finished 4th, 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Additionally, Matsuyama has had a really solid start to the 2021 calendar. In his last four events, he has never finished worse than T-28, but also has a T-2 and a T-13 in his last overall two starts.

Tony Finau:
Continuing the trend here, Finau combined recent form with past success on this Plantation Course. In his six events this season, Finau has four top-11 finishes and a top-5 finish. Finau has only participated in this event once, in 2017, but he did walk away with a 9th-place finish. Finau also ranks in the top-10 this season in Strokes Gained (SG): Total (9th) and SG: Tee-To-Green (10th) and even an impressive No. 21 ranking in SG: Approach the Green. Finau's long driving distance combined with his solid approach game this season could spell big success for him during his second event here.
