Fantasy football scoring is highly variable on a week-by-week basis. Even the top producers rarely come up big in every single game, making it important not to overreact to one or two poor showings.

Here are three players that were Week 8 fantasy football busts that should still prove to be startable options in Week 9.

Who to Start in Fantasy Football Week 9

1. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry is coming off one of his worst games of the season, notching just 7.3 PPR fantasy points in Week 8. That was in a tough matchup though, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rank first in Football Outsiders' run defense DVOA rankings. This week's opponent is on the opposite end of the spectrum, as the Carolina Panthers rank dead-last. Henry has at least 15 carries in every game this season, averaging 18.9 per, and he should see no shortage of opportunities with which to take advantage of this matchup.

2. Curtis Samuel, WR, Carolina Panthers

On the other side of that game, Curtis Samuel is coming off an 8.6 fantasy point game in a tough matchup of his own, having fallen flat against the elite San Francisco 49ers defense. He still saw 11 targets in that game though, giving him an average of 8.3 per game since Week 2. The Titans have been below-average against the pass, ranking 20th in pass defense DVOA, and Samuel should have less trouble converting volume to production here.

3. Le'Veon Bell, RB, New York Jets

Few fantasy assets have been as frustrating as Le'Veon Bell recently. That came to a head in Week 8, when he notched only 35 yards from scrimmage against the Jacksonville Jaguars. His volume has still been exactly what you want to see from a top fantasy back though, especially in PPR scoring. He's averaging 21.4 opportunities (15.4 carries plus 6.0 targets) per game in 2019. This week his efficiency should see a massive boost, as no team allows more points per game than the Miami Dolphins' 34.0, while they also allow the third most PPR points per game to the RB position. With the potential for big volume in a dreamy matchup, Bell is RB5 in our Week 9 PPR fantasy football rankings.
