FanDuel UFC Fantasy Picks for UFC 264: Poirier vs McGregor

Saturday night brings another major UFC pay-per-view card, with a UFC 264 fight card that is headlined by the third meeting between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.
Here's a look at the top FanDuel UFC picks for UFC 264 on Saturday.
UFC 264 Fantasy Picks
Sean O'Malley ($23): Sean O'Malley is the most expensive fighter on the slate, and he's worth every penny. He is a massive -1000 favorite over Kris Moutinho, who is making his UFC debut on short notice as a late replacement opponent. Nobody else on the card is bigger than a -370 favorite. O'Malley's style is also very fantasy-friendly. He's a dangerous striker, with two first-round knockout wins in his last four fights. But when his fights go long he still racks up impressive stats, like when he scored 86 significant strikes and 2 knockdowns in his third-round finish of Thomas Almeida in March. O'Malley will likely score a first-round knockout here, but if he doesn't he should still post a massive fantasy score. He's a strong pick for your MVP slot.
Dustin Poirier ($20): The question isn't whether you play one of the fighters in the main event. The question is which one. Dustin Poirier is the slight favorite (-126) and won the last fight, and his odds to win by KO/TKO or submission (+120) edge out McGregor's (+130). The increased chance of an early finish is valuable, especially when paired with his striking pace. Poirier has landed over 150 significant strikes each of the last three times his fight has made it into the fourth round or later, while McGregor has only landed over 150 significant strikes once in his 13-fight UFC career.
Jessica Eye ($9): Paying up for O'Malley means you need to find a cheap underdog. When you're down in the single-digit salary range, all you really need is to find a fighter who will win. Jessica Eye is a +164 underdog against Jennifer Maia, and this fight may be even closer than those odds indicate. Eye's defensive wrestling (57% takedown defense rate) is her biggest weakness, and while Maia is a strong grappler she has only landed 2 takedowns across her six UFC fights. If this one stays standing, Eye's striking edge will giver her a real chance at scoring an upset.
