After an exciting finish at the Colonial last week, the PGA Tour heads to another famous course, Muirfield Village, for the Memorial Tournament. With a field filled with elite players, this tournament is primed to be an exciting week of golf as players prepare for the U.S. Open.
With that in mind, let's take a look at three players to target for your fantasy team this week.
Memorial Tournament Fantasy
Jon Rahm comes into this event as the defending champion, so he clearly knows how to get it done here amongst an elite field. When you couple that with the way he's been playing this year, it's tough not to like him this week. Rahm has six top-10 finishes in his last nine events, including a T-8 at the PGA Championship just two weeks ago. Coming into this event rested and looking to build additional momentum heading into the U.S. Open, Rahm should be gunning for this win once again.
We picked Jordan Spieth to win last week at Colonial, and he almost pulled it off with a second-place finish. We're going with him to have another great week here. He's placed 13th and 7th here the past two years and actually has four top-15 finishes here in the last six years. While Spieth needs to clean it up a bit off the tee, he's been great in every other aspect of his game. Ranking top-20 on tour in Strokes Gained (SG): Approach The Green, SG: Around-The-Green and SG: Total.
Tony Finau usually plays great against elite fields, and Memorial is exactly that. Finau has four top-15 finishes and two top-10 finishes in his six career starts here, which includes a T-8 just last year. Normally known for his dominance off the tee, Finau has brought that and more this season, ranking top-15 in SG: ApproachThe Green (13th), SG: Around-The-Green (13th), SG: Tee-To-Green (5th) and SG: Total (13th). If he can keep his short stick in line this week, he could be right at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.
