Everyone is excited for football to come back. That goes without saying. But most fans also want to ensure that the NFL is able to return safely, without risking the health of the players, coaches and staff.

There have even been some encouraging signs on that front recently. But unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Take a look at this hype video the Philadelphia Eagles released at the end of July.

It's great to see the players back working out. It's less-great to see every member of the team wearing a mask incorrectly. Some weren't wearing one at all, some left their nose uncovered, but pretty much no one had both their mouth and nose covered.

To be fair, it has to be incredibly difficult to train at an NFL level while wearing a mask. But even if we give the Eagles the benefit of the doubt and assume the team is following other safety protocols correctly, the optics of releasing this video aren't great, to say the least.

If we really want football back, teams are going to have to do a lot better than this.
