Eagles Get Good News on the Latest Landon Dickerson Injury Update

With the 2021 NFL preseason wrapping up over the weekend, teams have had a chance to assess who deserves to be on their roster ahead of Tuesday's 53-man deadline. One player who the Philadelphia Eagles weren't able to see in action is rookie offensive lineman Landon Dickerson.
The Eagles drafted Dickerson with the 37th overall pick at the 2021 NFL Draft in hopes of him improving an offensive line that was mediocre last year. Unfortunately, the rookie hasn't been able to practice yet following a season-ending knee injury during his final season with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The good news is that Dickerson is ready to go for the 2021 season as the Eagles announced that they were activating him off of the injured reserve on Monday.

Landon Dickerson Injury Update
Dickerson was drafted by Philadelphia considerably ahead of where he was projected to go, however, you can't blame the Eagles for loving his resume. He was a two-time All-SEC offensive linemen during his time with Alabama, even being named unanimous All-American in 2020. That's not even to mention how he was the recipient of the 2020 Rimington Trophy, which is awarded to the best center in all of college football.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 325 pounds, Dickerson will add a lot of size to Philadelphia's o-line. One of the Eagles' biggest struggles last year was giving up a lot of sacks (4.1 sacks per game). Fortunately, Dickerson allowed just one sack and two quarterback hits on 716 offensive snaps last year, so Jalen Hurts should see less action depending on where the rookie lineman is guarding.
It'll be interesting to see how much of an impact Dickerson will have on a team that isn't expected to perform well this season. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently projecting the Eagles to finish at the bottom of the NFC East for the second straight year at +450 odds to win the division.
