The Los Angeles Dodgers have been without star shortstop Corey Seager since May 15 due to a right hand fracture that's kept him out of the lineup. After hoping he'd return in early July, he hit a snag in recovery.
However, it appears Seager is back on track with his rehab.
Corey Seager Injury Update
Seager is now swinging again, according to manager Dave Roberts, which is great news. Roberts had previously said the shortstop was having issues with his fracture while swinging, so it's clear the extra rest has had an impact.
Seager is slashing .265/.361/.422 this season with 4 home runs and 22 RBIs. The Dodgers are rolling even without their shortstop, currently owning a 53-32 record, just 0.5 games back of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West. Still, Seager's return will be a huge boost for a team looking to finish the season with momentum before a postseason run.
The Dodgers are the current favorite to win the World Series at +400 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
