DK Metcalf Trade Rumors Heating Up Ahead of Draft

The Seattle Seahawks have been adamant time and time again that they have no intention of dealing wide receiver DK Metcalf. Although, other NFL executives don't exactly see it that way. Metcalf's name is still "buzzing in league circles" ahead of the upcoming draft, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Metcalf is only 24 years old and has already made the Pro Bowl. It would make sense that he fits into Seattle's rebuild. The simple fact is that he is on the last year of his rookie contract, though. There is no guarantee that he will re-sign or that the team will have enough money to meet his demands.

The idea of the Seahawks dealing the three-year pro while he still has a lot of value continues to circulate as a result. While Fowler reports that Metcalf has gotten zero indications from the team that he will be dealt, he also mentioned that Seattle's mindset could change in the right circumstance.

"Seattle has said publicly they have no intention to trade him. But the execs I talk to keep bringing him up that maybe they would either be willing to move on at the right price or that Metcalf would welcome a change."

The former Ole Miss standout has dominated the NFL since bing drafted in 2019. Metcalf has racked up 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns across 49 career games played. He has hauled in 216 of his 358 targets and averages an impressive 14.7 yards per reception as well.

For now, all Seahawks fans can do is hope that a notification pops up on their phone about a contract extension rather than a trade. The NFL Draft is quickly approaching at the end of the month.
