Del Mar Horse Racing Picks for Friday 8/26/22

Starting at 6:00 p.m. ET, we have 8 races Friday at Del Mar "Where the Turf meets the Surf."
As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather and track conditions.
(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions).
Del Mar Betting
According to numberFire horse racing projections, these are the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.
1. Stone Point and Tangledupingrey, Race 4
FanDuel Racing Odds: 6/1 and 5/2

Race 4 is a Maiden Special Weight for Cal-bred 2-year-olds going 1-mile on the turf. The numberFire data projects Stone Point (6/1) and Buck Owens (5/1) to challenge on top of the favorite, Tangledupingrey (5/2).
Tangledupingrey sprinted out front and ran last race when finishing second in a similar turf mile for Cal-bred maiden 2-year-olds. Buck Owens and Stone Point make their debut, and Stone Point has a good work pattern with the meets top jockey Juan Hernandez summoned to ride.
2. Sensible Move and A Little Bit Crazy, Race 6
FanDuel Racing Odds: 7/2 and 3/1

Race 6 is a Maiden Special Weight for Cal-bred fillies and mares going 1-mile on the turf. The numberFire data projects the favorite A Little Bit Crazy (3/1) to challenge the top pick Sensible Move (7/2).
A Little Bit Crazy has top turf jockey Umberto Rispoli riding. She got bogged down in traffic and lost momentum last race turning for home, but posted a solid final quarter mile figure in her first route try.
Sensible Move finished second in back-to-back Cal-bred maiden turf routes, and her trainer Dean Pederson is 6-for-8 the past two months.
3. Silver Lightening and Man Oh Man, Race 7
FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 5/2
Bet Now at TVG | Bet Now at FanDuel
Race 7 is a Starter Optional Claimer for 2-year-olds sprinting 6 furlongs. The leading contenders and favorites are the preferred picks of numberFire's algorithm with Silver Lightening (3/1), Man Oh Man (5/2) and Let Him Do (7/2) the projected finishers to complete the trifecta.
Man Oh Man had a third place stakes finish two races back with enough speed to beat this group. Silver Lightening is a filly facing the boys, and she won her debut by more than 8-lengths with a speed figure that is the highest in this lineup. Let Him Do will try to close late if the pace is too fast.
