The rocky relationship between quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers has dominated NFL storylines all offseason long. However, things seem to be heading in the right direction as the reigning NFL MVP arrived to training camp with the rest of the team on Tuesday.
Rodgers' return also gives a huge boost to the 2021 fantasy outlook of wide receiver Davante Adams.
Davante Adams Fantasy
Adams was nothing short of spectacular last season, racking up 1,374 yards on 115 receptions and scoring 18 touchdowns in just 14 games played. The seven-year pro finished the year as the clear No. 1 WR in fantasy football and averaged an impressive 25.6 PPR points per game.
Without Rodgers leading the offense, Adams' outlook would take a major hit. The only other QBs on the roster right now are Jordan Love and Blake Bortles. Their lack of reps with this WR core would lead to a lot of uncertainty heading into the fall. Luckily, that does not seem to be the case.
Adams seems poised to post massive numbers every week once again with Rodgers at the helm. He consistently creates space by beating opposing cornerbacks down the field. Plus, the 28-year-old wideout has become Green Bay's go-to option in the passing attack, especially in the red zone.
Rodgers and Adams have combined for 58 touchdowns since 2016, which is the top mark for a duo in the NFL. Meanwhile, Adams' average draft position is No. 12 overall in PPR leagues, according to FantasyPros. He is being take No. 2 amongst wide receivers, behind only Kansas City Chief Tyreek Hill.
He checks in at WR4 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
