Darren Waller is one of the NFL's premier tight ends. Some could argue top he's top three, but any way you slice it he's surely top five. Now, he wants to be paid like it, and deservingly so. Waller and the Las Vegas Raiders have struggled to find common ground on an extension and get a deal done, however.

Clearly frustrated, Waller has decided to call in the big guns by hiring NFL super agent Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Rosenhaus is considered by many to be the best agent in the NFL, especially when it comes to getting his clients the most money possible.

Darren Waller Contract Extension

Rosenhaus' first comments following his hiring by Waller indicate that he intends to live up to his reputation (and quickly).

The Raiders have spent a ton of money the past couple years on both sides of the ball, but securing their best offensive weapon over the past few seasons should be a top priority. Waller is in the prime of his career at age 29 and has built fantastic chemistry with quarterback Derek Carr. Add in Davante Adams this season to take some of the receiving and coverage pressure off Waller and the Raiders' offense, along with Waller specifically, should become that much more terrifying for defenses.

There's still time for Las Vegas to extend Waller--who won't be an unrestricted free agent until 2024--before opening the 2022 season against the Los Angeles Chargers, where the Raiders are currently 3.5-point road underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
