Cordarrelle Patterson's Fantasy Outlook Booming After Latest Damien Williams Injury Update

The Atlanta Falcons received a disappointing injury update on RB Damien Williams to close out the week. Williams, who missed Atlanta's season opener with a rib injury, was not present during the media portion of practice on Friday. Williams did not practice at all this week, making his status for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams doubtful.
This has the potential for big implications on Cordarrelle Patterson's Week 2 fantasy outlook.

Cordarrelle Patterson Fantasy Outlook
Patterson flourished in Williams' absence during Week 1, racking up 120 rushing yards on 22 carries while adding 16 receiving yards and a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints, finishing as RB5 in PPR leagues.
With Williams likely out, Patterson should see another heavy workload against the Rams on Sunday. He accounted for nearly half of his team's touches in Week 1 (25 of 58), so he should be busy against a Los Angeles defense that was just gashed for 31 points and 121 rushing yards by the Buffalo Bills.
While a road matchup against a talented Rams defense may seem daunting (especially with Atlanta as 9.5-point underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook), Patterson is clearly the Falcons' top weapon right now and should see plenty of work on the ground and through the air. He currently rates as the RB14 in The Duel's Week 2 PPR rankings, but the volume alone gives him top-10 potential this week.
