Colts Gutsy Play-Calling Sets 20-Year NFL Record

The Indianapolis Colts are coming off an impressive win on Thursday Night Football over the division-rival Tennessee Titans. And the Colts' gutsy play-calling may have had something to do with their success.
The Colts went for it on 4th down five times in the first three quarters of last night's game, which was the most by any NFL team ever in the first three quarters.
The Colts have already gone for it on 4th down 5 times tonight.

The Colts ended up converting three of those 4th downs, keeping the chains moving on crucial drives. While not all of those plays nor the drives they converted them on s\directly resulted in points, it had to be deflating for the Titans' defense.
Additionally, keeping the defense on the field always helps in late-game situations as the team gets progressively more tired. And this showed in the Colts 21 second-half points.
