Christian McCaffrey's Injury Doesn't Change His Mindset
After appearing in 48 consecutive games for the Carolina Panthers, star running back Christian McCaffrey suffered through a 2020 campaign marred by injuries. In fact, McCaffrey saw action in only 3 games.
The 2019 Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection will enter the 2021 campaign fully healthy. McCaffrey also maintains that his recent bout of injury struggles won't change his mindset for this season after some badass quotes.
"I’m just sticking to my Ps and Qs. I know how to play this game at a high level. I know how to train, I know how to take care of myself. … As much as I would have loved to prevent those, sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes freak stuff happens. But I’m completely moved on to this year. I feel great. My mind’s good. My body’s even better, and I’m fired up.”- Christian McCaffrey
Aside from one year of injury struggles, McCaffrey's attitude early on his career has worked out exceptionally well. He's rushed for 1,000+ yards in his lone two full NFL seasons. Not only does McCaffrey torch defenses with his run game, but he's quite adept at pass-catching as well. In 2019, McCaffrey also recorded 1,000+ receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns.
The Panthers will rely heavily on McCaffrey as he returns from injury. Despite the addition of Sam Darnold at quarterback, Carolina is considered longshots even to win the division. Currently, the Panthers own just +1200 odds to win the NFC South, according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
