We are less than a week away from the Super Bowl LV matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City has already suffered major injuries on offense and defense, so they can't afford any more losses.
However, the team got some great news on cornerback L'Jarius Sneed heading into a crucial week of Super Bowl preparations.
KC's standout rookie suffered a concussion in the team's AFC Championship win against the Buffalo Bills, and that limited him in practice all of last week. However, Sneed has now been cleared from concussion protocol, giving him the green light to get back in action.
Sneed will certainly play a big role for KC as they try to slow down a dynamic Tampa offense led by Tom Brady. The rookie from Louisiana Tech totaled 41 combined tackles, 7 passes defended and 3 interceptions in just nine games this season. He's stepped up in the postseason as well, registering 3 tackles for loss, including 2.0 sacks.
Kansas City's defense isn't their strength, but Sneed's presence will give them a turnover-creator against Brady, who's struggled with INTs this season. Forcing turnovers could be the key for the Chiefs' defense if they hope to quiet the Bucs on Sunday.
