There were a ton of questions about the Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiving corps heading into the season. Those doubts have been all but silenced with Patrick Mahomes on his way to a potentially record-breaking year as a passer.

Unfortunately, Mahomes' WR group is hurting ahead of Week 11.

Three wideouts did not participate in Wednesday's practice: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Smith-Schuster is in concussion protocol after taking a scary hit this past Sunday, while the latter two are both dealing with different illnesses.

It's certainly a little concerning to hear the WR room isn't 100% ahead of an important matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. It's not out of the ordinary for veterans to Wednesday practice, though, so this is simply a wait-and-see situation right now.

Smith-Schuster may be the biggest longshot to play considering the NFL's recently heightened concussion protocols. However, Hardman was forced to miss Week 10 due to this same abdomen issue, and it seems it's not been resolved.

Assuming MVS' illness isn't serious, he could potentially be the leading wideout for the Chiefs on Sunday along with recent arrival Kadarius Toney, who just scored his first career touchdown last time out.

The health of Kansas City's WRs will be a major story to track leading up to Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs are currently 6.5-point road favorites in that machup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
