Playing against a Detroit Lions passing attack that has put up points against everyone this season was a daunting task for the Chicago Bears' defense. That task got a lot easier Sunday with Matt Stafford ruled out.

Facing backup quarterback Jeff Driskel, the Bears defense automatically becomes the top play of the week, replacing Baltimore, which is facing its own back up in Cincinnati.

In the case of the Bears, they will now be dealing with a quarterback who is more likely to take off running than he is to take a shot deep. In nine career games, Driskel has topped 200 yards passing only once, and has thrown for just six touchdowns in that span. Meanwhile, he has added 130 yards rushing and two TDs on the ground.

If there was a scenario where the Bears' defense fell flat today, it would be because they have had little time to prepare for a quarterback so different than Stafford. With that being said, the lack of a running game for Detroit and the significant downgrade their receivers face are both reasons not to doubt Chicago as this week's top defense.

In a season where the Lions have struck fear in the hearts of defenses everywhere, they now offer Chicago a great chance to be the highest scoring fantasy unit of the week.
