James Conner landed with the Arizona Cardinals this past offseason as a backup running back, or change of pace back behind Chase Edmonds after an up-and-down start to his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Conner, despite not holding the lead role for much of the season, has been fantastic for the Cardinals and already totals 12 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown through 12 games. Now, with Edmonds out, Conner has become the feature back for his team once again.

James Conner Contract

When asked about his future in Arizona given his contract is up after this season, Conner had a response that Cardinals fans will love.

"Man, I want to win a Super Bowl here. I love the weather and everything this team has going and my teammates out here and the coaching staff. I don't see why not, why I wouldn't want to be here. We have all the resources and everything we need to be successful.

That sounds like a guy that doesn't plan on going anywhere, and as long as the price is right, it's hard to envision the Cardinals letting him.

He's proved this season that he can be successful both in a shared backfield and in a featured role, stepping up to do whatever the team has needed. And for a team with Super Bowl aspirations, and holding the best record in the NFL, it seems like the right move for both sides.

Conner and the Cardinals are tied for the fourth-best odds (+800) to win the Super Bowl on FanDuel Sportsbook.
