One of the most highly-anticipated rookie players for fantasy football this season was Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers. Thought to be the potential leader of their backfield committee, expectations were high for Akers. Unfortunately, a Week 2 injury kept him out of action last week, and it looks like he will be on the sidelines again in Week 4 against the New York Giants.

Akers suffered a rib injury in his Week 2 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. While the injury initially did not seem like it would be too severe, he was not on the field for Thursday's practice. Still, the Friday practice report will be the most important in determining his availability for Week 4.

If Akers is out again, it looks like second-year running back Darrell Henderson will directly benefit. Henderson has 241 total yards and two touchdowns over the past two games without Akers in the rotation. In a game where the Rams are heavy favorites this weekend, both Henderson and Malcolm Brown could see solid fantasy outings.

In our Week 4 standard scoring fantasy football rankings, Henderson comes in as RB24, while Brown is not ranked.
