When the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers last met, it was Tom Brady's squad that got the last laugh. Both teams have now spent the offseason improving by any means necessary to gear up for a possible Super Bowl rematch.

Tampa Bay took an intriguing approach to that goal on Wednesday by poaching a pair of recently cut Chiefs players for their practice squad.

Tampa Bay Bucs News

The Buccaneers have added former Chiefs tight end Deon Yelder and running back Darwin Thompson. Both offensive weapons spent time on Kansas City's active roster the past two seasons while combining for 419 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns.

Neither of these two practice squad additions are the flashiest names in the world. Rather, these additions are newsworthy because of the history between both sides. It'll be interesting to see if either Yelder or Thompson sees time on Tampa Bay's active roster, given the deep talent of this team.

Regardless, the Buccaneers and Chiefs appear on a collision course for another championship showdown. Kansas City enters the season with leading +500 odds to win Super Bowl 56, while the Chiefs rank second with +650 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
