The Denver Broncos' coaching staff surrounding new head coach Nathaniel Hackett is starting to come together. NFL insider Ian Rapoport has reported that the team is hiring former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak as its quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

Hackett has already announced that he will remain the primary play caller in 2022. Kubiak will be one of his top assistant coaches and play a key role in pregame preparation, though. It's interesting to note that Kubiak is the son of former NFL quarterback and Broncos head coach, Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak just finished his first season as the Vikings' OC and helped guide QB Kirk Cousins to one of the best statistical season of his career. The Minnesota starter was named to the Pro Bowl after completing 66.3% of his pass attempts and tossing 33 touchdowns compared to 7 interceptions.

The 34-year-old coach got his start in the NFL when he was hired as an offensive quality control coach with Minnesota in 2015. He later joined his father in Denver as as an offensive assistant before returning to the Vikings in 2019. That is when he started to work primarily with the QB position.

The Broncos will be aiming to secure a playoff berth next season for the first time since they won the Super Bowl in 2015. The only issue is no one truly knows who Kubiak will be coaching just yet. Drew Lock is the only QB under contract in 2022 and has shown no improvement over the last three years.
