The Milwaukee Brewers have struggled with injuries throughout the 2021 season, and they got another scare on Wednesday after right fielder Avisail Garcia was hit by a pitch. He couldn't finish his first-inning at-bat and was forced to leave the game, though X-rays didn't reveal anything major.

The 30-year-old will take a seat on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs.

Avisail Garcia Injury

There doesn't appear to be much concern surrounding Garcia, which is great news. He's been diagnosed with a bruised left hand, and tests after the game would've revealed anything major. Instead, he gets a much-needed day off to rest.

Garcia has been a huge source of production for Milwaukee this year. He's racked up 20 home runs and 69 RBI while slashing .266/.330/.476 across 102 games.

The Brewers certainly don't need to rush anything with their starter. They have an 8.0-game lead for first place in the NL Central, giving them some cushion to weather through absences in their current lineup.

Milwaukee is a massive favorite at -1150 to win the division, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
