The Toronto Blue Jays (44-41) are stuck right in the middle of a playoff push as they sit 3.5 games back of the second American League Wild Card spot. They recently got some good news as it looks like relief pitcher Ryan Borucki could rejoin the team shortly after the All-Star break.

Ryan Borucki Injury Update

Borcuki is schedule to throw his second rehab outing on Saturday and could also throw one on Tuesday if all goes well. Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that the hope is Borucki can continue showing progress and be activated from the injured list when the team returns next week.

A perfect inning with one strikeout is what Borucki was able to complete in his first rehab outing on July 7. It was a great sign in his recovery and now all eyes are on what he can do this time around. The 27-year-old is working his way back from a left forearm strain he suffered in the middle of May.

The young lefty has been a reliable arm coming out of the Toronto bullpen this season posting a 4.05 ERA and 0.90 WHIP across 13.1 innings pitched. Overall, he owns a 3-1 record and has racked up 14 strikeouts as well.

Toronto will look to keep winning ball games in hopes of securing the team's second consecutive postseason berth. The Blue Jays are currently tied for the sixth-best odds to win the AL pennant at +1300, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
