Any time Bill Belichick gives a player praise (especially one of his own), he must be pretty special.

The New England Patriots head coach had some extremely kind words to say about NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor on Monday, opening up about one of his former players on The Greg Hill Show.

Belichick, who coached Taylor as the New York Giants defensive coordinator from 1985-1990, said that "Taylor is really in a class by himself."

Many football fans would agree with that statement, as Taylor is generally regarded as one of the greatest linebackers and defensive players of all time. Taylor spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Giants, helping them win two Super Bowls and taking home MVP honors in 1986.

While Taylor has been dogged by off-the-field issues during and after his playing days, there's no denying what a force he was on the gridiron. The fact that Belichick still speaks so highly of him more than three decades after their last game together speaks volumes, especially considering how many talented players Belichick has coached since then.
