After three injury-plagued seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Sammy Watkins is still on the market after NFL free agency has opened. Given the flurry of deals in the first week, it likely indicates where Watkins' perceived value is at right now.

Still, there are some WR-needy teams out there, and these three franchises would be the best places for Watkins to land.

3. Baltimore Ravens

Watkins already has a meeting scheduled with Baltimore Ravens, so this move could already be in the works. Baltimore desperately needs to get Lamar Jackson some more receiving talent around him, and Watkins would be an affordable target with the chance to have a huge impact. The wideout is still chasing his second NFL season, where he posted a career high in yards (1,047) and TDs (9), but he likely wasn't going to sniff those numbers while in KC with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Yet, in Baltimore, he'd instantly slot in as a top WR target alongside Marquise Brown, giving him the potential for a huge bounce-back season if he can stay healthy.

2. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions lost their two top receivers this offseason in Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr., making WR a priority for them to address. While they've already inked Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman to deals, Watkins could be another option for them to bring in for new QB Jared Goff. Watkins and Goff actually played together in 2017, with the receiver grabbing 39 catches for 593 yards and 8 TDs (the second most in a season in his career). The clear connection between the two could be something the Lions look to tap into as they fill out their roster. The fit makes sense for both sides, with Detroit adding WR depth at low cost and Watkins getting a chance to be a top target again for a QB he already has rapport with.

1. Green Bay Packers

If Watkins wants to go somewhere he'll be fully maximized, there's not a better landing spot than the Green Bay Packers. Having a three-time MVP in Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback, Watkins would have no excuses not to excel while in the green and gold. The Packers need to invest in a solid WR2 alongside Davante Adams, rather than hoping Allen Lazard or Marquez Valdes-Scantling steps up, and they should be able to get Watkins at a discount. The wideout would complement Adams' dependable hands as a deep threat (career 14.5 yards per reception average) who stretches the defense and opens up the middle of the field for the Packers' offense. He's still just 27 years old, and if he can stay on the field, he'd have a prime opportunity for a career year while catching passes from Rodgers.
