The Atlanta Falcons, to put it lightly, have been the laughing stock of the NFL through three weeks of the 2020 season. In back-to-back weeks, they have blown seemingly insurmountable leads, to the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears, respectively.

Their ability to collapse late in games has been the topic of jokes from fans to players alike. Most recently, it was Bears safety Tashaun Gipson that poked fun at the Falcons.

With a 10-point lead late in the game, play calling was clearly an issue for the Falcons. They ended the game with three straight drives of 60 seconds or less. Atlanta had the lead in two of these drives. Yet, they ran the football just one time.

Running the ball, while possibly being ineffective, would have kept the clock moving and would have taken much more time off the clock. The decision was so baffling it even confused Gipson, which certainly isn't a good sign for the Falcons.

The Falcons will need to recover quickly, as they play the undefeated Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
