The Atlanta Falcons had a disappointing 2019 season, highlighted by injuries yet again. Their offseason has mostly been about getting their team healthy, though the Falcons did make a couple moves in free agency.
Overall, this team looks similar to what it has the past few years, which could create some tough decisions in training camp. These are three veterans the Falcons could cut in training camp.
1. Matt Schaub, QB
Once known as the pick six king with the Houston Texans, Matt Schaub has served as Matt Ryan's backup the past four seasons, The 39-year-old is likely to be beat out in training camp by one of the younger passers, which will likely end his player career.
2. Qadree Ollison, RB
Second-year running back Qadree Ollison did not do much in his rookie season, running for 50 yards and 4 touchdowns in eight games. With the Falcons adding Todd Gurley in free agency, it puts Ollison down the depth chart, with him likely sitting as the fourth running back. Brian Hill has been viewed as the bottom of the barrel at running back for Atlanta, but he did enough last season to prove he is not the worst rusher on the team.
3. Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB
Blidi Wreh-Wilson has spent the past four seasons with Atlanta, after beginning his career with the Tennessee Titans. He has started three games for the Falcons during this span while also dealing with some injuries. Wreh-Wilson has been a depth player for the majority of his career, and after the Falcons drafted A.J. Terrell, it's unclear if his depth will be needed for this season.
