The Atlanta Falcons' 2020 campaign did not go the way they hoped. Despite fielding an explosive offense and a defense that started to put things together down the stretch, the Dirty Birds finished 4-12. It was the third straight year the organization finished below .500.

Clearly, something needs to change. But going off some recent comments from team owner Arthur Blank, those changes could be bigger than you might think. In fact, he even name-checked franchise cornerstones Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.

Most important is that we hire people who are the very best at their jobs, who will come forward with a plan for us to have a championship team, a competitive team, etcetera... That may include Matt and Julio for the next two years, three years, it may not. I have no idea.

To be fair, Blank didn't say anything too definitive here. And changes were always to be expected as the organization fired their long-term GM and head coach, Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn, earlier this year.

But the fact that Blank is openly speaking about Ryan and Jones' uncertain future is telling. The team doesn't appear to be going anywhere as currently constructed, so a rebuild is likely on the horizon. And with the No. 4 overall pick in a 2021 NFL Draft that's absolutely loaded at both QB and WR, Atlanta could get a king's ransom for either star and spend their top-five pick on their replacement.

WRs like Ja'Marr Chase and DeVonta Smith, or a QB like Zach Wilson, certainly fit the bill.

There's still a ways to go, but it seems like Falcons fans may need to buckle up for a wild offseason.
