The Los Angeles Angels are once again struggling in 2021, despite the insane season they are getting from Shohei Ohtani. Injuries are a huge part of those struggles.

They have been without Mike Trout for much of the season, and star third basemen Anthony Rendon hasn't played since July 4 and only in a total of 58 games this season.

Rendon is currently on the 10-day IL, but that looks like it will be extended even further according to manager Joe Maddon that he is still a couple weeks away from returning.

Rendon still has yet to go on rehab assignment, something he will have to do before retuning to the Angels.

Even when Rendon has been on the field this season he was having a down year, slashing just .240/.329/.382. Despite those struggles he remains one of the best players on the team and his return should give the Angels a boost in more ways than one.

Los Angeles currently sits 10 games out of the AL West lead and 5 games out of the AL Wild Card. Getting Rendon back in the lineup will be crucial if they want any shot at making the postseason.
