With three-time American League MVP Mike Trout (calf) injured and no longer the 2021 MVP leader, Los Angeles Angels teammate Shohei Ohtani (+125) and Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+230) have turned the Most Valuable Player race into a two-man duel.

Last weekend, two-way star Ohtani struck out 10 batters and blasted his 16th home run of the season. The Angel's two-way phenom is hitting .255 with a .585 slugging percentage on 16 home runs and 42 RBIs. Ohtani has also started eight games and is 2-1 with a 2.76 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 42.1 innings.

Guerrero Jr. is hitting .333, best in the American League. He's smacked 18 home runs to lead all of baseball, and his 47 RBIs is one shy of the MLB lead. The Blue Jays 1B/DH also has an AL-best .662 slugging and his .436 on-base-percentage and his 135 total bases leads the MLB.
