After signing a record-breaking deal this offseason, Aaron Rodgers is the most valuable quarterback in the NFL.

As it turns out, he's the most valuable quarterback against the spread as well.

Thanks to the severe drop-off in talent between him and his backup DeShone Kizer, Rodgers has the biggest effect (10 points) of any NFL quarterback on determining their respective team's point spread, according to Westgate Superbook's Ed Salmons.

Value, in this case, is assessed by using a road game against the Rams (the team at the top of Salmon's power rankings) as a theoretical point of comparison. In the case of the Rams, a road game against the Patriots is used as a point of reference.

As one would come to expect, Tom Brady comes in a close second with an eight-point dropoff between himself and backup Brian Hoyer, while Ben Roethlisberger is considered the third-most-valuable ATS quarterback with seven points over Joshua Dobbs.

What's surprising, however, is that Deshaun Watson is the quarterback that rounds out the top four. Apparently, oddsmakers have a lot more faith in the backups of other elite signal-callers than one might think.
