There is star power from top to bottom in New York's lineup, but there's still one giant piece missing. Heading into the postseason, they're going to need a big boost, and it looks like they'll get that sooner than the Wild Card round.
Outfielder Aaron Judge could return for the series against the Boston Red Sox.

What a time for a return.
There's a very slim chance that New York catches Boston at this point, but they aren't worried about the division. They just want to get past their opponent in the Wild Card and secure home field in that game, which is why the return of Judge is so important.
There's big bats in the lineup, but adding an MVP-caliber player is something that can't be ignored. He's been out since the end of July and needs to be as healthy as possible when the playoffs roll around.
Aaron Boone on Aaron Judge: "he's getting real close." Playing against Boston next week is "potentially in the timeline," Boone adds. The Yankees won't be sending Judge to Tampa for any work. He'll stay in New York, and will hit off a high-velocity pitching machine today.— Coley Harvey (@ColeyHarvey) September 16, 2018
While this series may not be of the utmost importance, you can't plug him into the lineup when it counts with rust on him. This will give him the opportunity to get back into the swing of things so he can thrive in the spotlight.
With Judge in the lineup, this lineup is a completely different animal.
