With a large contingent of MLB contenders looking to add pitching before the trade deadline, Cleveland Indians' starter Trevor Bauer continues to come up in trade rumors. While Bauer is having a bit of a down season, for his standards (4-6, 3.71 ERA), the right-hander still undoubtedly offers value for teams looking for rotation help this summer.

With the Indians 11 games out of first place in the AL Central and three games above .500 coming into play Sunday, trading a player like Bauer could net great returns for the Tribe.

With that in mind, here are the four most likely trade destinations for Bauer.

After adding Dallas Keuchel earlier this month, the Braves look like they're swinging for the fences when it comes to trying to win the World Series this year. Even with the signing, Atlanta's starting rotation remains a weakness. Despite being one of the top teams in the National League, the Braves' rotation has a pedestrian 4.36 ERA and is 17th in the Majors in strikeouts (336). Considering the fact that the Braves look like they'll be competing in the 2019 postseason, it would behoove them to add someone like Bauer to potentially give them a real shot at winning it all.

3. Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays find themselves in a situation few thought they would be in entering the 2019 MLB season. After more than 70 games, the Rays are just a half game back for the AL East lead. While the Rays have one of the top-performing rotations in baseball this season, there's no such thing as too much pitching come October, and trading for Bauer could be the difference between an early exit and a long postseason run.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

Similar to the Rays, the Dodgers also already have great pitching. Through their first 71 games, the team sports a 3.30 ERA – second best in all of baseball. However, the Dodgers have proven they're always willing to add to their already-stacked roster (i.e. Manny Machado in 2018), and Bauer would provide them with an elite right-hander to pair with their current lefty-dominated rotation. Adding Bauer, who is from the LA area, would allow them to shift either Kenta Maeda or Rich Hill to the bullpen, thus making the Dodgers even stronger for another World Series run.

The Yankees are off to an impressive 42-27 start to the season, and are all but set for a postseason run. However, after missing out on both Keuchel and Craig Kimbrel in free agency, trading for Bauer, or another starter, is likely their best remaining option to improve a starting rotation that has an ERA over 4.00. Having faced Bauer in recent postseasons, trading for the right-hander would potentially make the Yankees the team to beat in 2019.
