Duke Johnson is on the move again. The Houston Texans running back was just released by the team as a cap casualty as they look to rebuild their franchise. The cut saves the Texans $5 million in cap space.

The Texans had one of the worst rushing attacks in football in 2020. Johnson was the team's second-leading running back with 235 rushing yards in 11 games. The 2015 third-round pick of the Cleveland Browns has been a reliable runner and more productive receiver while playing in all 16 games the previous five seasons.

Johnson is likely happy to be moving on from Houston and the personnel issues surrounding the team, including QB Deshaun Watson's demands to leave.

Here are 3 teams Duke Johnson could be playing for in 2021.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

Which team had a worse running game than Houston in 2020? The Steelers, who averaged a league-worst 82.5 rushing yards per game. James Conner was reliable, but the 25-year-old back is testing free agency for the first time and ready for a big payday. The Steelers could use a running back like Johnson as a stronger receiving option out of the backfield.

2. New England Patriots

The Deshaun Watson rumors continue to swirl and the Patriots are a potential landing spot. Johnson could join him, or be an addition to Damien Harris and Sony Michel. Neither of those players possesses the receiving skills of Johnson, and New England is also potentially losing running backs Rex Burkhead and James White to free agency.

3. Miami Dolphins

Johnson, a former Miami Hurricane, would welcome a move back to the sunshine state to either the Dolphins or Jaguars. Jacksonville has the most cap space to maneuver, but the Dolphins have a better opportunity for playing time and a faster track to winning. The Dolphins leading rusher in 2020 was seventh-round second-year player Miles Gaskin (584 yards). He was a productive receiver, but Miami has little else in the backfield and Matt Breida is a free agent. Duke Johnson would be a good fit at the right price.
