The Miami Dolphins made headlines for their decision to release Kyle Van Noy just one season into a four-year deal, but it opened up almost $10 million in cap space for this budding contender to use this offseason. Up to over $37 million in space, per Spotrac, Miami has serious money to spend and build out the roster around young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

With that in mind, here are three free agents the Dolphins should pursue with the extra cash they now have.

Dolphins Free Agent Targets

3. Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones is one of the most dominant running backs in the league, and he would immediately boost Miami's offense. Over the past two seasons, Jones has rushed for 2,188 yards and 25 TDs. But he also brings value in the passing game as well, registering 829 yards and 5 TDs in that same span as well. The Dolphins' running game could use a lead back, so splurging on Jones is one way to make sure the team continues its development into a contender in 2021.

2. Corey Linsley

All-Pro center Corey Linsley and the Green Bay Packers appear headed for a split this offseason, giving the Dolphins another prime target. As one of the top players at his position, Miami would be smart to invest in a serious offensive line upgrade for Tagovailoa. Linsley allowed just 1 sack and earned zero penalties in 734 snaps this year, earning an elite 89.9 grade from ProFootballFocus. With quarterback play being even more important in today's NFL, the Dolphins should jump at the chance to add a premier O-line talent like Linsley.

1. Allen Robinson

What better way to set your young QB up for success than nabbing him a No. 1 wideout? Allen Robinson is the top free-agent wide receiver this offseason after grabbing 102 receptions (a career-high) for 1,250 yards and 6 TDs with Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles as his quarterbacks last season. The seven-year vet just posted the best catch percentage (67.5%) of his career, so he'd be an excellent go-to option to provide for Tagovailoa, who struggled at times in 2020. With Robinson, DeVante Parker and Mike Gesicki, the Dolphins' offense would have the potential to be elite.
