3 Dolphins Players Who Could Be Traded Before the Deadline

Despite being in position to make a push, the Miami Dolphins switching to rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be a sign that Miami is not looking to contend right now. Instead, they could already be preparing for next season, and part of that strategy would be dealing players for draft picks.
With this in mind, these are three Dolphins who could be traded before the deadline.
1. Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB
While the Dolphins would likely love to keep Ryan Fitzpatrick around to mentor Tua the rest of the season, it would be tough to turn down any offer for him. Following Andy Dalton leaving the game with a concussion, it's possible the Dallas Cowboys would be willing to toss a draft pick Miami's way for a little bit of magic down the stretch.
2. Matt Breida, RB
The Dolphins traded for Matt Breida, but they may be regretting that decision. He has totaled just 33 rushing attempts over six games for the team. Given the fact that he becomes a free agent this offseason, the Dolphins would likely jump at the chance to get anything in return for the speedy runner.
3. Jordan Howard, RB
Jordan Howard isn't a free agent until 2022, but most other things said above for Breida above hold true for him as well. Expected to be the lead running back in Miami, Howard's 18 rushing attempts in only four games is very disappointing. It's clear that Myles Gaskin is the guy they want in the lead spot, making these two veteran backs expendable. Turning 26 in a week, Howard still has plenty of football left, and a change of scenery that provides him some opportunity could be best for all parties involved.
