The 2022-23 NBA season is in full swing with another four matchups set for action on Tuesday. One of those battles features the Dallas Mavericks (1-1) and New Orleans Pelicans (2-1) in a showdown between Western Conference title threats.

Here are three of the best prop bets for the Mavericks-Pelicans game, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.

Mavericks vs Pelicans Player Props

1. CJ McCollum - Points: Over 24.5 (-110)

CJ McCollum has been New Orleans' most efficient scorer so far this season, averaging 23.3 points per game on a 48.3% shooting percentage. He's had the ball in his hands a ton despite being surrounded by other stars such as Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. Both Ingram and Williamson have been ruled out for this game with injuries, however, leaving McCollum to run the offense. The Mavericks present as a tough matchup, but it's a team McCollum torched for 38 points in his most recent game against them. Dallas is also allowing over 23 points per game to opposing shooting guards. The increased shooting volume alone will be enough for McCollum to cash the over.

2. Spencer Dinwiddie - Assists: Under 4.5 (-140)

Seeing this line remain at 4.5 is shocking considering that Spencer Dinwiddie has logged just 5 total assists across his first two games. He is being utilized as a spot-up shooter by head coach Jason Kidd more than he is a ball-handler. Even without Ingram or Williamson, this Pelicans' defense still has enough depth to cause some trouble on Tuesday night. New Orleans is allowing only a 44.7% opponent shooting percentage (No. 9 in NBA) as well as just a 34.3% opponent three-point percentage (No. 13 in NBA). Dinwiddie may be able to find the open man, but there's certainly no guarantee that man will sink his shot, especially given the Pelicans' tendency to contest using their length.

3. Christian Wood - Rebounds: Over 7.5 (+102)

It hasn't mattered that veteran Christian Wood is coming off the bench for the Mavericks, as he is still making a major impact on the boards and making his presence felt around the rim. Wood has racked up at least 8 rebounds in both of his games this season and has a good chance to extend that streak to three games on Tuesday. The Pelicans are allowing 11.7 offensive rebounds per game (No. 18 in NBA) and have been dominated by Wood in the past. The 27-year-old has tallied 8 or more rebounds in seven of his nine career matchups against New Orleans. The absence of Ingram and Williamson will loom large here.
