There is not a single player in the NBA as hot as Golden State Warriorr star Stephen Curry is right now. He is in the middle of an 11-game streak of scoring 30-plus points and has had five 40-plus-point games since the start of April. Of course, his ridiculous play has caused his NBA MVP odds to surge.
His current odds to take home the award sit at +1800, according to NBA player futures odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. That ranks fourth in the league behind fellow stars Nikola Jokic (-350), Joel Embiid (+350) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (+1600).
Stephen Curry NBA MVP Odds
This is an insane development given Curry's odds sat at +6000 (8th place) just a few days ago. However, he has put his team on his back and that is exactly what an MVP does. In fact, Curry has passed Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal as the league's top scorer, averaging 31.4 points per game.
The Warriors are currently the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference and on the edge of playoff contention. With the play-in factor being implemented this year, nothing is out of reach yet. Curry's odds would receive another huge boost if he can lead his squad into the postseason.
It's going to be hard for anyone to keep pace with Curry if he continues to play like this night in and night out. He is a pure shooter and a threat to score from anywhere on the court. That makes him a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the season when it comes to the NBA MVP award.
