Jon Gruden has the Las Vegas Raiders offense rolling. They may have come up short on Sunday night, but they still scored 31 points and now rank eighth in the NFL with an average 28.6 per game.
Gruden has also clearly been having some fun with the Raiders' play-calls.
Of course, when Derek Carr makes the "James Harden" call at the line of scrimmage, the Raiders aren't passing.
But in reality, it's probably not actually a shot at Harden. The play the Raiders run after the call is an "iso" to the left. The left-handed Harden famously sees a ton of isolation ("iso") looks in the Houston Rockets offense.
There was certainly some mixed reactions when the Raiders gave Gruden a massive, long-term contract when he was years removed from last coaching in the NFL. But at this point, it's clear that Gruden and his offensive scheming are as sharp as ever.
